Plaid or Check

This pattern has been a major hit in autumn/winter 2016 and is set to be a popular staple item for spring. There are lots of examples of plaid and check from cleaner Scottish style tartan to edgy grunge inspired plaids. Grunge

A massive trend in autumn/winter 2016 was grunge. It took us back to the 90’s, featuring favorites such as leather, washed out denim and all-important tartan fabrics. This vintage spring fashion look has become a popular part of modern fashion and there have been heavy influences in recent catwalk collections.

The attitude of this look continues well into the New Year and beyond and remains a worthwhile investment trend.

spring Fashion Florals

A perennial trend for spring sees floral hit the spring/summer 2017 catwalks. Autumn/winter 2016 was all about dark autumnal hues whereas this spring we float gracefully back to pastels and delicate prints with a touch of attitude. This transitional spring trend offers a feminine and simple style choice and is a favourite staple trend.

Sports Luxe and Athleisure

There was a time sportswear just meant throwing on some trackkies and a loose top when working out but this continued trend is one to be considered inside and outside the gym. The sports luxe trend has a slightly masculine feel but with cleaner, minimalist outlook. Designers have embraced the luxe appeal sampling crop tops, mesh shirts and traditional zip up jackets whilst others went all out sport with running tights, technical t-shirts and water-repellent materials. Celebrities also offered sports luxe or athleisure collaborations upping the sportswear style stakes.

Spring fashion – Co-Ords

A huge transitional trend is the co-ordinates trend. You can go as bright as you feel brave enough and really make an impact with coordinating skirt suits and trouser co-ords to really turn heads. For a more casual feel to this trend there are brilliant printed jeans and tunics or t-shirts to add comfort to this astonishing style. It’s perfect for day or evening-wear and great for those early spring weddings.

The bomber jacket

As winter leaves us and spring starts to blossom, we are starting to think about swapping our cosy winter coat for something a little more lightweight and spring/summer fashion 2017 has some perfectly pretty jacket examples to choose from.

One big spring trend hitting the catwalk this season is the notorious bomber jacket. This jacket comes with a lot of history and can be perceived as quite a masculine item of clothing. It was a big statement in the 90’s with a grunge, punk feel but spring fashion trends sees feminine texture, colours and fabrics making this a must have for any wardrobe.

Ladies can experiment with edgy, harder styles or create the perfect spring fashion outfit with pretty floral examples. Bold patterns and colours feature heavily with this trend making it a perfect statement piece with a simple casual look. You can also team your bomber jacket with glamorous skinnies and gorgeous heels creating a lovely evening style. There is some eye-catching designer and high street inspired jackets available for spring/summer 2017 and if you want to go retro, there are plenty of vintage boutiques offering the real McCoy.
