Delicate and feminine

Fashion is an ever-changing industry, yet many designers take inspirations from a bygone era and incorporate tried and tested cuts and forms to create collections. International fashion influences bring refreshing and innovative designs to the table whilst the best of British designers showcase our love and originality in the fashion industry, with vintage playing a major part of design.

You many not be surprised that next season’s biggest trends are influenced by well-known spring trends such as delicate lace, spring floral and exquisite feminine detailing. This year is no exception and there is a big influence of vintage inspired fashion in many collections. Spring/Summer 2016 has given us a variety of top vintage inspired fashion trends for the new season and we have picked some of the hottest styles for the warmer months.

Vintage inspired fashion: Flower Power

So you may not think this trend is particularly groundbreaking but picking florals for your spring wardrobe is a must for future seasons. This inspirational fashion trend has been a key focal point for designers dating back years. Not only does it inspire fashion, interiors are hot on the heels with delicate pastel detailing.

Flowers ooze femininity and designers such as Holly Fulton, Erdem and Top-shop took it back to basics with pretty prints and frills. Designers such as Temperley London mixed traditional floral print with definitive masculine shapes, still creating a captivating vintage inspired style but also providing a contrast to traditional design.

Vintage inspired fashion: Delicate Lace

Lace dates back hundreds of years and is an important part of fashion history. Today it breathes a new lease of life with traditions out the window for spring and designers such as Preen and Christopher Kane splashing the runway with effervescent neon colors and fun texture.

Designers such Burberry and Felder & Felder kept it classic and simple with dark tones, perfect for work wear. Both styles capture the spirit of vintage inspired fashion whilst flipping it on its head.

The future

The future of design firmly has its roots in the past with vintage inspired fashion playing an important part of current designer collections and high street trends. Each season we see new and intuitive ways to recreate a classic and Spring/Summer 2016 is no exception.
