With Birtwell’s intricate textile designs and Clarke’s perfectly cut dresses, they created a classic 70s dress, which is still coveted today.

There were tank tops and bell bottom jeans with embroidery on the leg and trouser pockets. Colours were loud and shirts were too, with large collars and puff sleeves that came into a long thick cuff.
